To study and document the existing databases, identify and document dependencies and data flow as well as redundancies, inconsistencies and other issues, and propose improved designs/plans to address issues in the existing databases and support future development.

· Document the existing databases and system dependencies
2 [. P/ m% S2 c$ S' ^· Identify redundancies, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies
2 r9 _: r, v4 w· Participate in the design phase of SDLC
" v8 P5 {% G- Y( k, w+ m. m5 m· Develop required database components/ F( b+ K, |5 q3 \9 t- u+ g$ }# x
· Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments, |6 B" Q1 o( a( i- j
· Reviewing and documenting the existing SQL Server databases4 [6 D! t4 b/ t/ S5 P, c
· Identifying issues in the existing databases3 e5 N" w* Q/ ?; |! H
· Participating in defining processes for measuring database performance
0 T6 |# O; v- j) h4 v. {! z· Participating in improving database performance
( ^1 Y. J: q' p1 [· Designing/developing SQL server objects (Tables, Views Stored Procedures, Functions, indexes, etc)
( g7 p2 t- C, m& Y· Researching and analyzing available technologies to serve a specific business need: ~+ _, o3 z$ i
· Identifying different options for potential solutions and assessing them
# W2 p4 R7 v5 Q7 K' Y· Creating logical and innovative solutions to complex problems2 g2 S+ z S1 ~
· Working closely with systems analysts and developers to support the database requirements. 3 W5 [" V; h6 j
· Overseeing the implementation of new systems$ x2 j9 x3 V8 X
· Planning and working flexibly to a deadline

' z, w' c2 h& N U- s: R· Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent or equivalent work experience( m3 A0 T: C+ a P5 E) C) R
· Five to ten years experience in database development activities 6 j+ C8 R# F0 O
· A minimum of 5 years hands-on technical experience in database design and development
1 y) W7 B3 C/ ^/ t K j) s· Good background in database design in Microsoft SQL Server or similar DBMS! C6 r0 w5 f, i' s) b
· Be proficient with document management tools 8 y( U! i! ~6 n$ `# i
· Full understanding of industry standards of the Software Development Life Cycle
# M. \, [9 h& E! J3 J5 }3 s· Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services
( |! i: Z: Z* \! o* @# a· Experience and /or exposure working in projects 4 u& B4 ~1 n, O
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
5 D v- E1 S; R& O/ O: a' Z. o· Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes

· Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
