Description:
) t q p% M0 I0 JTo study and document the existing databases, identify and document dependencies and data flow as well as redundancies, inconsistencies and other issues, and propose improved designs/plans to address issues in the existing databases and support future development." n7 b$ T$ h5 e

Responsibilities:' ^1 W1 @1 \- E0 @; N2 ?% s
· Document the existing databases and system dependencies) z8 S& |% w+ g9 @, u
· Identify redundancies, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies
2 h* n$ g) j; q0 Y· Participate in the design phase of SDLC( p1 W! K% V, c8 H* N/ e
· Develop required database components- `0 _" X$ i- O3 _! m( X
· Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments0 U# Z+ z( J' O0 U7 ~
· Reviewing and documenting the existing SQL Server databases
- Y+ Z- z* F" y2 N% Q· Identifying issues in the existing databases0 ]" H. ?7 y8 q } v
· Participating in defining processes for measuring database performance
. R6 |" l6 x2 G5 F2 U [· Participating in improving database performance. y5 r( U. N8 [7 R
· Designing/developing SQL server objects (Tables, Views Stored Procedures, Functions, indexes, etc), j! C5 q# \1 |5 }& E
· Researching and analyzing available technologies to serve a specific business need
* _$ R" k+ J: N9 ^· Identifying different options for potential solutions and assessing them
: g; R, r$ u; i' A& b· Creating logical and innovative solutions to complex problems d/ H" V- g' \4 `
· Working closely with systems analysts and developers to support the database requirements. 1 J, N" t8 y1 p" D
· Overseeing the implementation of new systems

· Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments

Requirements:
/ A" L4 _. Q( h" a· Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent or equivalent work experience
# h' _# J8 }5 D# ~5 F3 ?# K· Five to ten years experience in database development activities
1 L; V3 E" _% ?7 {3 N· A minimum of 5 years hands-on technical experience in database design and development
0 j! e* {! h; I· Good background in database design in Microsoft SQL Server or similar DBMS9 o+ w5 t1 |: u4 x0 H7 q) g
· Be proficient with document management tools 3 E* B" ]; X) `- E* P
· Full understanding of industry standards of the Software Development Life Cycle" K5 [2 Z6 z: v. C6 K
· Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services 8 N* j% g" ]# r' \! X& R% |
· Experience and /or exposure working in projects . e6 _6 v* C" O0 B1 c o
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills# A+ l e+ T7 B2 ]2 t$ A
· Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes P) G/ V, Q+ g
· Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment 9 n/ |) X6 b" H# _
· Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
3 N; l0 p# x* G8 }' q# o H· Self starter able to learn quickly and to multitask in a fast-paced environment
