To study and document the existing databases, identify and document dependencies and data flow as well as redundancies, inconsistencies and other issues, and propose improved designs/plans to address issues in the existing databases and support future development.7 Y/ q* M* B w- R# n

Responsibilities:
/ e+ t" ?, w$ {0 b9 b) V% E· Document the existing databases and system dependencies& O, Z3 n) E! M/ d7 m0 R/ \
· Identify redundancies, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies
! E+ o! Z9 q4 o+ f· Participate in the design phase of SDLC
& L- h' ~" g( f- p. V9 W3 m· Develop required database components
j. d- l- k" W* L· Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments
1 }1 c, }& M( m! I( \' W% u7 [. J- |· Reviewing and documenting the existing SQL Server databases# ]* |6 k8 L- t8 u/ ~: N$ a
· Identifying issues in the existing databases2 L' G* H( D) ^* S) C
· Participating in defining processes for measuring database performance" o; [0 _, U; Z
· Participating in improving database performance
3 S8 w) |7 @) H) C· Designing/developing SQL server objects (Tables, Views Stored Procedures, Functions, indexes, etc)
. i: h1 Q# f- G/ i7 D' Y ?6 f· Researching and analyzing available technologies to serve a specific business need
& I5 J" ^- v( b; M6 G0 a5 Y) h· Identifying different options for potential solutions and assessing them ; M. V' e2 W. H8 k" N
· Creating logical and innovative solutions to complex problems$ j5 D: P, U% f: Q5 w" G- }
· Working closely with systems analysts and developers to support the database requirements. 0 B; W) z" I+ q* L6 S0 T3 ]
· Overseeing the implementation of new systems8 l, a6 f' w; Y y2 x4 ?
· Planning and working flexibly to a deadline7 t1 c* m) \" z4 b/ ?5 N( j
· Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments/ f9 M5 ?( I$ g

Requirements: O a! m! N! | [7 Z- C4 A+ [, g
· Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent or equivalent work experience2 P, A) V2 y7 j
· Five to ten years experience in database development activities # ^1 v7 C- d2 l: d% R& {
· A minimum of 5 years hands-on technical experience in database design and development0 E/ D+ O+ ~: a2 q- `
· Good background in database design in Microsoft SQL Server or similar DBMS. w# T+ l! H" @8 o: g$ {
· Be proficient with document management tools
) k- y- C7 J* X* H· Full understanding of industry standards of the Software Development Life Cycle4 g* M; `% \9 x( w4 G5 z
· Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services
, j' M$ k& k! K0 Y* Q· Experience and /or exposure working in projects - e$ v9 ?. f |' i& k4 E5 Y
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills5 Y1 i) i# Q9 `& @2 z5 i2 ~
· Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes
* E$ h1 ^7 q+ ^( Q" ]· Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment
. p7 a/ b' ]/ T. w- Z7 X! ~4 h· Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
