To study and document the existing databases, identify and document dependencies and data flow as well as redundancies, inconsistencies and other issues, and propose improved designs/plans to address issues in the existing databases and support future development.% J0 z! S, \2 b
0 s6 B* f4 e4 m7 AResponsibilities:
+ P" ~1 o6 j0 L; r· Document the existing databases and system dependencies. }; O! ~- t( q/ i) [
· Identify redundancies, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies% K1 \+ w! B D6 P. {
· Participate in the design phase of SDLC
- m' O9 O; `& y( [- s· Develop required database components! |6 u, w* W- u% O+ w. V% G' d
· Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments
9 R& L! d! M$ n" \· Reviewing and documenting the existing SQL Server databases6 F! n- h4 u- s h
· Identifying issues in the existing databases+ ]$ E' S9 X" C6 w
· Participating in defining processes for measuring database performance) r* h5 }2 j+ k: w' F
· Participating in improving database performance
* k* y0 e4 g& O6 z· Designing/developing SQL server objects (Tables, Views Stored Procedures, Functions, indexes, etc); y e* R+ z- b$ v% D- s
· Researching and analyzing available technologies to serve a specific business need
! S \4 ]! u! T X/ i· Identifying different options for potential solutions and assessing them
' _& X1 ?5 v. @4 d' B5 M) c) r· Creating logical and innovative solutions to complex problems
, y% Q- o( x( \, V( N· Working closely with systems analysts and developers to support the database requirements.

· Planning and working flexibly to a deadline

Requirements:" [, W% g/ F/ X* o* P- k! r
· Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent or equivalent work experience% p2 \) U P: p% _7 ~/ R
· Five to ten years experience in database development activities
$ ]& M: H6 i6 [· A minimum of 5 years hands-on technical experience in database design and development
" E0 l \! Y/ d( X# l· Good background in database design in Microsoft SQL Server or similar DBMS
f1 T* S3 I/ c· Be proficient with document management tools
) W7 d* i9 k/ ^3 y0 V· Full understanding of industry standards of the Software Development Life Cycle. e+ k0 G A% w% l3 {
· Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services - K$ ^7 S; m* D3 j& N4 G/ i
· Experience and /or exposure working in projects
z2 `- G% _1 e1 y. C· Strong analytical and problem solving skills# e# T( f% E$ ]8 s/ H, D
· Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes1 K* I' J J" D' F4 J8 c
· Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment 1 K8 }6 @/ n8 f
· Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail' }- K; Q7 L' }, m. {1 S! S
· Self starter able to learn quickly and to multitask in a fast-paced environment
