Since they have email addresses, it's more convenient for me to contact with them. Some even work in weekends, so we can also make calls in weekends. Hope I can finish a draft these few days & send to as many as possible to see if we can get more suggestions and advices. Unfortunately I didn't find the one in St-Laurent.

Although most tenants would like to just have a problem-free apartment as well as a good relationship with their landlord, this is unfortunately not always possible. Many tenants have a very difficult time getting their rights respected by landlords who are looking to make a greater profit at the tenant's expense.
Students who rent apartments often face numerous problems. Many landlords prefer renting to students because:
- they are often first-time renters with a low level of knowledge of what their rights are;
- they have less of a tendency to assert those rights;
- they are easily intimidated by rude and hostile lanldords;
- they often accept far worse housing standards than others (e.g. tenants with young children).
If you are currently having problems with your landlord (or any other housing issues), drop by our office. If our staff cannot help you, they will refer you to someone who can.

Since 1980, the Régie du logement has served the public as a specialized tribunal that has a competence in residential lease matters.
The mission of the Régie consists in informing tenants and landlords of their rights and obligations under lease agreements, in promoting agreement between the parties and, failing an amicable settlement, in deciding disputes. The Régie is also responsible for the conservation of dwelling stock in certain circumstances and, in such cases, ensures that tenants' rights are protected.
