Well, I made a membership card there in summer, and really don't like that place. That place is just too small and crowed. Also, the ice is bad for most of the time.

I only know Westmount arena, but heard some place in the east free all the tiime. Seldom go to Westmount, most time skate at McGill when it opens.
However, if u r a real beginner (that means u can't skate fast, and very stably), you can go to Westmount arena. There are two rinks. The regular hockey rink rarely opens to public, but the small one opens all the time.
thanks for your information. I am not a beginner, nor advanced, but just skate for fun. maybe I can meet you on Wed or Sun there.
