I moved to Vancouver 6 months ago with a company relocation package, so far I am impressed and happy to live in BC. Basically you have to live where you can find a job and make a living, in Montreal French is not necessorily the only quality you are missing, I personally know a lot of people making good money in Montreal, and over 80% of them speak little or even no French at all.

Anyway, good luck in Calgary, still not too late to catch up!

I moved to Calgary last month after working in Montreal for 5 years. I don't like here so far, the city is small and dirty.
Labor jobs are everywhere, a good office job is not easy to find if your major is IT.
The housing price goes up everyday, a detached house priced around 250k in Montreal normally costs at least 330k in Calgary.
