Be very careful when you go bank. for deposit your cash.

It was last year, I went to a Sherbrooke street TD branch for deposit, the girl said missing one 20$, after she said it was ok. - I just take this as an accident mistake.

Today I went to a Queen Mary TD branch, the girl said: missing one $20, I told her it was impossible as I counted before. She insisted: the machine counted many times, it is missing. Then she said I can go aside to count again as she got more clients.
I counted and found she put ONE MORE 20$ in the tied pack.
Then together we went aside to count. During the counting, when she said: here is 50pcs, I saw she quickly put one more in that pile.... So now you understand why she kept saying one missing while actually the amount is correct. - This time I think it is done by PURPOSE of STEALING !

The same branch, when deposit a cheque, they changed the number position to make it a smaller amount. eg. $ 1591. they put $1519. -is it a normal mistake ?

I am not sure if other banks have such many mistakes or intentions like that. But by very careful not let people fool or steal you. :mad:

I believe that the girl in Sherbrooke street TD branch  made an accident mistake.

But the girl in Queen Mary TD branch, you have to report this situation to her manager. By reporting her manager is good for her and good for the reputation of Bank.
For the deposit of check, it is must be an accident, nobody can steal money from check. The transaction of check is your bank branch demand money from the payer bank branch, usually this transaction need 3 to 5 days.

TD bank again. Several years ago, I went to TD branch that is close to Atwater metro station to deposit cash. After I gave cash to the clerk, she just said "it's finished", but didn't give me any  receipt. When I got to the door of the bank to leave, I realized that the clerk could steal my money because at another TD branch the clerk always gave me receipt when I deposited cash. This clerk could put any amount in my account and keep the remaining for herself. Then I came back to ask her to give me the receipt.


the lesson I learned: any time when  making cash transaction(both deposit and withdrawal), ask for the proof (receipt).

好几年前就有报道说，蒙特利尔唐人街附近的BMO，有华妇在保险箱里放的几万元现金不翼而飞了。似有中文报纸做过报道。

第一次在南岸brossard的target旁的那家，分明点过几遍的1000刀，柜台后的职员非说少一张，当时没有经验，也没坚持要她当面重点，教训！

第二次在la prarie的cibc，职员又说少一张，我坚持她当面点，点过两次，一张不少，那职员的脸红得～

从此之后，凡是cibc电话推销的，我就讲这两个故事，搞得电话那头的人顿时没有推销的激情。

It happened to me like this, ... but I became careful after I read a report in newspaper about an old lady:
The old lady went to deposit cash with her bank book, it printed appeared everything fine like always. But after home she fount instead of showing deposit money into her account, her bank book showed she withdrew that amount from her account. That means she lost a big money: 2 times of her deposit amount.  She went back to the bank, they all denied - the manager and the clerk all said she did withdrew that money that day, it showed in the bank book. She must be tired or old forget everything that day. ...
