who_knows, 大菜 ( Agar ) can be found in China town or alternative you can use gelatine.

noraruo, Thanks for your concern. I enjoy the process rather than eating them. Most of the time, they were given to the neighbours.

也太专业了吧! 以前做过几个brownie,觉得好吃得不得了,美了好一阵呢,现在....你们的也太专业了吧;) :eek:

Not pro though.Sometimes it takes 2-3 hours to make a cake which will be easily finished in 15 minutes. However, it is good to learn something more besides traditional dishes.

Easy Fruit Napoleons (mango, raspberry, blueberry or strawberry)
1. Thaw puff pastry according to instruction.
2. Unfold pastry on lightly floured surface. Roll sheet into 1 4- by 12-inch rectangle. Sprinkle sheet with 1 tablespoon sugar.
3. Cut into 6 pastry sheets. Place on baking sheets. Bake 15 minutes at 400F or until golden. Remove from baking sheets and cool on wire racks.
4. For sweetened whipped cream, in chilled bowl beat 1 cups heavy cream, 3 tablespoons sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
5. Spread pastry with whipped cream, top with fruits and cover with another pastry. Repeat once. Dust with icing sugar and serve .

Variation: can use custard power to replace whipped cream. cut into triangles intead of rectangles.

I made some changes: mixed custard and cream coz I have some custard left yesterday. I fogort to cool it inside oven so the side of the pavlova is not as good as expected so I use banana to cover it. It should look like the picture inside the recipe.

好看但不合口味,没食欲!幸好太太不做这些菜,不然我得天天吃得火冒三丈。别误入歧途,没一个中国男人喜欢吃这些。

人家不一定就是做给中国男人吃的嘛。。
再有,大家口味不一样,饭后吃块点心多好。~

我平时很少做甜食,一个是自己嫌麻烦,再有就是用代糖做出来的东西总不如白糖那边好。~

salmon pastry

Puff pastry 1 package
salmon mixture:
Salmon 90g
Mayonnaise 2tbsp(or more as desired)
Onion 1/4 finely chopped
egg wash:
egg 1
milk 1 tbsp
1. Thaw puff pastry according to the package.
2. Roll out and cut into 5 x 7 mm rectangles or desired shapes
3. Mix salmon, mayonnaise and onion
4. Put salmon mixture on pastry sheet. Leave space for 4 sides and brush with egg wash. Put another pastry on top. use fork to make some holes and tighted up 4 sides.
5 Brush top with egg wash, cut some lines on the top pastry
6.Bake for 15 minutes at 200C (400F)
Can use tuna, curry chicken, ham..
