The name of this town is Stanstead, built with three villages: Rock Island, Stanstead Plain and Beebe Plain, situated at the southern end of HWY 55, about 160km from Montreal.

It is a good idea to have a cup of coffee in a bar there.

I got it, thanks a lot LZ, I will invite some friends to go together to visit the interesting town in a weekend.

对的，正是那地方，HWY55边境检查站前那出口。Haskell Free Library & Opera House在Rock Island。

请问到这一小镇需要什么permit吗?是否象到加拿大的其它地区一样无需特别要求? 谢谢!

不需任何证件，如果你不打算真正进入美国的话。我那天是下午去到那里，时间稍匆忙，只能得到一个表面的印象。这些小地方的边境关卡给我的感觉还是很轻松的，只有一个officer，还过去聊了几句。在两边的关卡之间的地段，虽然踩了线，但并没有入境美国。

不过，在HWY15南端的Lacolle或是千岛湖那样的繁忙边境关卡，那里则容不得这样的中间地段。
