不知这儿为何如此冷清！？

父母探亲来加拿大，签证是一关，签完证来加拿大医疗问题又是一关。父母在加拿大要是有个啥病，若没有相关医疗保证，还不得倾家荡产？

对于没有太阳卡的人，看个急诊，光注册就要近400加元，更别说打个针，开个药，住个院了。

现在，我父母刚刚探亲过来，签证是六个月。应该办啥卡，买啥保险，如何办/买，望前辈们指点，先谢过！

另外，我听说如果买保险，保险公司只对新病投保。对于投保人以前的病不保。不知是否属实？

我也会联系太阳卡（514）864-3411，去了解。

Answer:

For visitor, if your visa is 6 months, you can not get medical card. Buy other insurance is a good choice and also very very necessary.

If your visa longer than 6 months, you can apply medical card, but you will have not the medician insurance if you are not immigration.

This case is very suitable for Post-doc.

Do you have experience of buying and declaring visitor insurance? Please let me know.

In addition, I contact with BlueCross. The rep. told me that there are only 30 days for visitors to buy insurance after their arrival in canada. After 30 days, no insurance available!

Does somebody else care about the topic? It is very important. Do not take chance! A small ill will cost us thousants and a severs one will put us into the hell!

You may find some info from CIC web site:

"Canada does not pay for hospital or medical services for visitors. Make sure you have health insurance to pay your medical costs before you leave for Canada."

Visitors might be able to get healthy card for personal information only, but the cost is not covered.
