A government organization SOCIETE ST VINCENT has free French course (everything is free, including material) program all year around. As long as you are a legal immigant or a Canadian citizen, you can participate. The class I am in now has places available this year. If you are interested, you can call 514-328-4982 and leave a message at voice box 88. The French teacher will call you back to tell you more details. Or you can go directly to 11626 Boul. L'Archeveque(corner Henri-Bourassas) with your immigration card or citizenship card. You can take the course right away and do the registration during the coffee break. I've never seen they kicked anyone out.
Personally I think the course is very good. We have classes on Thursday and on Friday afternoon, from 1:00Pm to 3:30pm (most of the time it finishes at 3:45pm because of the coffee break). It's ideal for someone who learned a little French before but still couldn't speak French comfortablely. You can take the 69 est bus from Henri-Bourassa metro station. The building is on the corner of Henri-Bourassas and L'Archeveque. The school is on the second floor, you have to ring the door bell to get in. |
