Reporting to the Mandarin Team Lead, the Mandarin Translator is responsible for translating technical product texts, marketing assets and SEO-driven texts. He/She will ensure that all translations are in line with SSENSE guidelines and quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses an excellent command of Simplified Chinese, meticulous attention to detail, and a keen interest in fashion. ' M$ }. X# E9 E6 o# o8 A# V1 I! @. ]& W# t& o- ~- d4 O. z
RESPONSIBILITIES ' C q1 z/ Q$ ]# g" C7 c% UTranslate product information, designer biographies, and marketing copy in line with SSENSE terminology ! e o+ d7 K. r( o* W. ~; KMonitor, maintain and update the terminology guidelines to ensure copy is consistent and accurate + q, A- E, M: Q5 BEnsure weekly KPI targets are consistently met and tracking tools are updated daily 2 v' x9 a o4 Y" b; p3 WMaintain rigorous standards of quality control {' l5 @* C: `* M5 s0 aWork closely with the Mandarin and other language teams in performing various translation assignments for the company as required - e/ h( b0 |) W. v& U1 F$ S- A ) ?* Z$ k4 L( C/ S% ^REQUIREMENTS' x- x% ]6 O2 @+ Q: V- i
Bachelor’s degree in Translation ' z0 a$ _8 N" B+ d4 A& k/ ]A minimum of 2 years translation experience, preferably in a fashion or e-commerce environment , b" T# b. f9 L( \% p" PExcellent verbal and written skills in both English and Mandarin , z' k' @, V6 O- \' }8 wMastery of simplified Chinese grammar, spelling and usage including the ability to craft culturally-sensitive texts# @% C, {& {- Q
Strong command of fashion terminology : }5 Z% N$ W+ J+ v& L7 X2 nKnowledge of sewing anatomy, an asset* W7 K2 o: m! \
